St. Paul of the Cross receives the black habit from Bishop Gattinara

November 21st, the feast of Our Lady’s Presentation in the Temple, is always a special day for Passionist Nuns. All around the world, the Brides of the Crucified join in renewing their five holy vows: the Passion Vow, chastity, poverty, obedience, and enclosure.

This November 22nd, Passionists around the world will also be celebrating a major anniversary: the 300th anniversary of our charism in the Church! On November 22nd, 1720, Paul Danei received the black “habit of penance and mourning” and began the retreat in which he wrote the Passionist men’s Rule and received many of the foundational graces of the spiritual family God was calling him to found.

We at St. Joseph’s Monastery will be celebrating both occasions this Saturday, and we invite you to join us via live-stream!

8:00 AM CT: Mass for the Presentation of Mary —
The presider will be Bishop William Medley of the Diocese of Owensboro, and the homilist will be our chaplain, Fr. Lou Caporiccio, CPM.

10:30 AM CT: Passionist Tricentennial Prayer Service —
including Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Paulacrucian readings and music, and a sermon by our chaplain, Fr. Lou Caporiccio, CPM

May the Passion of Jesus Christ be Ever in Our Hearts!
