Seeing Double!

As we celebrate the special “double feasts” of Triumph of the Cross and Our Lady of Sorrows (September 14-15), we at St. Joseph’s are giving thanks for another “double” blessing: our two newest postulants!

Emma and Kristin Marie completed a year of aspirancy this August and entered the monastery together on the 23rd, the memorial of St. Rose of Lima. We are delighted to welcome them both to the postulancy, a 1-2 year period of more intensive formation and discernment spent full-time in the cloister.

It’s been nearly a month since their entrance, but both are still lighting up the hallway with their smiles! They — and we — are most grateful for the ongoing support of your prayers as these two courageous young women continue to seek the Lord’s Will for their lives.

With the arrival of Emma and Kristin Marie, we now have SIX living in the novitiate: one novice, three postulants, and our two visitors Katelyn and Carolina.

That’s not counting our two aspirants, Elizabeth and Alexandra! They are still living in the world, going to college, working, etc., but also coming for periodic live-in visits at the monastery. Please pray for them during this 1-2 year period of more seriously discerning a Passionist vocation.

Sr. Mary Veronica, our Novice Directress, has her hands joyously full these days … so we’re sure she’d appreciate your prayers for her too!!

A joyful bunch!

L-R: Postulant Emma, Postulant Holly, Postulant Kristin Marie, Novice Sr. Bethany Marie
