Vocation Prayer of Pope St. John Paul II
This past Tuesday we had a delightful visit with two families who are fostering religious vocations. It was a joy to see the Darnowski family again and to meet the Krauskopf family. May the Lord bless these parents as they seek to make all vocations known and understood by their children. May the Lord bless these families with sons and daughters who consecrate their lives to building up the Kingdom of God. May the Lord bless these children and teens with a growing desire to find, follow and fulfill God's plan for their lives!
Lord of the Harvest, enlighten many generous people to serve the church as laborers with greater readiness.
We pray for pastors and their collaborators, that they may find the right words in putting before the faithful the message of the priestly and consecrated life.
We pray that in all parts of the Church the faithful may believe with renewed fervor in the Gospel ideal of the priest completely dedicated to the building up of the Kingdom of God and may support such vocations with great generosity.
We pray for young people to whom the Lord extends His invitation to follow Him more closely, that they may not be drawn away by the things of this world, but may open their hearts to the loving Voice that is calling them.
We pray for families, that they may succeed in creating a Christian environment favorable to the important religious choices of their children.
We pray that all priests and religious may be an example and an encouragement to those who have been called, by their availability and humble readiness. Amen.
