O Mary, Mother of God, your assumption into heaven was for you not only the crowning of a holy life, but also the cause of joy and triumph for the human race. If the honor of earthly parents descends upon their children, what glory and joy for all of us, your children, to see you raised to such heights of glory! Confidence fills our souls, for you were raised to this glory not for your own advantage only, but for that of your frail and lowly children also, in order that we might feel the effects of your maternal care and protection, and seek the help of your intercession. One of your greatest delights is to lavish the treasures of Your Son’s redemption upon your poor and needy children. With your arms outstretched—those arms in which the Incarnate Word of God delighted to rest when He became Man—plead our cause. Pray to Him for us, your children, that in our earthly exile in this vale of tears, we may grow more and more to resemble you, the Mirror of His holiness, and at last may glorify Him with you in heaven forever.
O Mary, assumed into heaven, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
O Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God and Mother of men, we believe with all the fervor of our faith in your triumphal Assumption into Heaven, body and soul, where you are acclaimed as Queen by all the choirs of angels, and the countless multitude of saints. We unite with them in thanking and praising God who has exalted you above all the heavenly hosts.
In your mercy, dearest Mother, look down upon our miseries and our sorrows, upon our struggles and our weaknesses. Help us to remain pure in mind and body, to bear the crosses of life, and to live and die in close union with your Divine Son. Intercede with Him on our behalf, and obtain the graces and favors we ask in this Novena (here mention your requests).
O Mary conceived without sin,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.
